ItemA development of stategies to enhance educational leadership roles of English newspapers(Assumption University, 2010) Kanog-on Rungrojngarmcharoen ; Assumption University. Graduate School of EducationThis research was focused on developing strategies for enhancing the roles of English newspapers. The researcher determined the roles of English newspapers from documentary research, questionnaire and focus groups. The results were synthesized to develop strategies for enhancing the roles of English newspapers in sharing educational leadership knowledge. The expected roles of newspapers were categorized into ten groups. The results were ranked as following: 1. to inform people about political, economic and social conditions, 2. to provide useful and helpful information for people‘s everyday lives, 3. to provide people with information on the ultimate meaning and significance of events, 4. to transmit values and social norms to the public, 5. to create awareness and educate people about various aspects of both material and social innovation, 6. to create awareness among people about the significance of ongoing and lifelong learning, 7. to crate linkage in joining different elements of society, 8. to motivate and inspire people on favorable aspects, 9. to entertain audiences with entertainment news and stories, 10. to communicate and influence people to accept or adopt certain messages or ideas. From the analysis of English newspapers‘ content, it was found that most of the content concerned fostering the learning and teaching followed by the content promoting the knowledge in community, providing knowledge on performance improvement for working people, instilling moral & value and presenting research findings and theories, respectively. The opinions of newspaper readers towards the current content of English newspapers showed that they were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied. The three areas of content considered knowledgeable were on effective methods and strategies in terms of problem solving, ethical and critical reasoning for performance improvement, providing knowledge of successful management and career accomplishments, and providing guidance, success criteria and effective strategies for personal development and self-enrichment. Another three interesting areas were the features on how to learn and share knowledge among people in a society, sharing knowledge and methods to improve teaching and learning and supporting and encouraging the concepts of building up a learning society. The proposed strategies for newspapers to improve their content in order to achieve the roles of educational leaders were as follows: 1. newspapers should develop themselves from within by strengthening their strong positioning and get their editorial and sales & marketing teams must work closer and share ideas openly among themselves; 2. adding a new section for providing content based on knowledge base in educational leadership was believed to be a crucial value added for the newspapers. Yet the style of presenting the knowledge content must be practical and creative in order to draw attention from a new group of younger readers; 3. Inviting readers to engage in developing and sharing content. Engaging audience could be both on-line and print media in order to facilitate readers to participate easily and freely; 4. Collaboration among all possible parties involved: media firms, educational institutions, private sectors, government, and the community, should be developed so as to be an active part in building up learning and knowledge sharing community.

ItemAN ETHICAL LEADERSHIP MODEL FOR ENHANCING MORAL EDUCATION IN THE DIOCESAN COLLEGES OF PALAI, KERALA, INDIA(Digital Production Press, Assumption University, 2018) Joseph Purayidathil ; Kanog-on RungrojngarmcharoenThe aim of this research was to develop an ethical leadership model for enhancing moral education in the diocesan colleges of Palai, Kerala, India. The researcher identified four specific objectives for this research. For accomplishing the first research objective, the researcher did the content analysis of 16 books and 114 articles directly related to the subject. These results were validated by twenty experts and from these results the instruments for the data collection for acquiring the second objective were developed. The data for second objective were collected by conducting in depth interviews with the administrators of the colleges and by using survey questionnaires for collecting data from the lecturers and the students. The results revealed the areas that needed improvements. The researcher, by making use of the ethical leadership theories and combining the results of the first and second research objectives, developed a new model for enhancing the moral education. The preliminary model was sent to 20 experts for their review. After having collected their suggestions, the researcher modified the model accordingly and thus the final model emerged. For accomplishing the fourth objective, a new curriculum was developed and the researcher implemented the new model for a period of three months in one of the colleges of the diocese of Palai. Pre-test and post-test were conducted. The results of the analysis of the data confirm that the new ethical leadership model for moral education is effective in terms of values, instructional strategies and moral assessment.

ItemA STUDY OF THE SERVANT LEADERSHIP OF DOMINICAN SEMINARIANS AT PARISHES IN VIETNAM(Digital Production Press, Assumption University, 2015) Ha, Nguyen Manh ; Kanog-on RungrojngarmcharoenThis study was on the servant leadership of Dominican seminarians at parishes in Vietnam. The objectives of this study were (1) to examine the current servant leadership of seminarians serving at the parishes in Vietnam (2) to determine the relationship between seminarians’ servant leadership and their demographic factors including age, educational attainment and years of serving experience. The research method which was used for this study was a quantitative approach. A Likert scale questionnaire which based on Barbuto and Wheeler’s (2006) theory was used to determine servant leadership qualities of 265 seminarians at the Dominican Seminary in Vietnam. The data from questionnaire was analyzed by using descriptive statistics and Pearson Production Moment Correlation Coefficients test. This study showed that (1) the Dominican Seminarians fairly practiced servant leadership when serving at parishes in Vietnam; (2) there was no significant relationship between seminarian servant leadership qualities and their demographic elements including age and educational attainment. The findings from this study could be useful for the administrators of the Seminary in Vietnam to further improve their training quality for current and new seminarians in order to achieve the ideal mission instilling a greater sense of servant leadership in them. In general, these findings could also provide a fresh impetus for all seminarians to strengthen their faith and perform their duty effectively.

ItemA Theoretical Synthesis of Knowledge Sharing and Educational Leadership for Sustaining Learning Communities( 2013) Kanog-on RungrojngarmcharoenKnowledge is one of the crucial and dominant economic resources in order to obtain sustainable advantages in any community. The world is now shifting faster thanks to the advanced development of digital connectivity and increasing access to knowledge. Leaders of a community, society, or country must contemplate what factors concerned in the emergent era of valuable network that fosters learning communities. To some extent, learning communities benefit each individual member and the community as a whole as they generate economic prosperity as well as improve students’ academic and social achievement. They even enhance interdisciplinary studies in higher education levels. Hence, it is of essence to have a strong learning community which requires all stakeholders to actively participate in sharing common values, beliefs, and knowledge in order to pass on their wisdom from generation to generation and embracing a strong sense of loyalty and belonging among themselves, so as to achieve together both individual needs and shared missions of the community. With the aim of sustaining a learning community, it necessitates synthesizing the creative mechanism of knowledge sharing with the application of authentic educational leadership that encompasses a process of influencing, sharing knowledge of new concepts, practices, ideas, insights, abilities, and values for personal development and of facilitating ongoing learning, communicating certain values and useful information for people’s well-being in a community, enhancing academic progress, and inculcating sound awareness of continuous lifelong education. The purposes of this study through content analysis are to raise the awareness of the eminent power of sharing knowledge that requires a strong sense of educational leadership and to emphasize the significance of sustaining learning communities for the academic achievement of learners in particular and for the intellectual well-being of people in a community in general.
