ItemAn analysis of quality assurance in elearning: course management level( 2018) Naree AchwarinThe purpose of the study was to examine concepts and principles of quality assurance in eLearning for course management level. The author reviewed, and analyzed the existing literatures, researches and case studies, particularly emphasized on quality assurance in eLearning process that relevant to the course management system, especially in course production process and delivery of eLearning. This study highlights an important view of the application of quality assurance concepts and principle through eLearning at course management level. Since the quality assurance system in eLearning concerns, involves with many people from different department and management level; administrators, teachers, IT technician, staffs, stakeholders, students and community, the quality assurance through eLearning at course management level required certain aspect of leadership and management for administrators and instructional leadership for instructors. The teaching learning process for course development and management was categorized into 4 phases for course management level; planning and analysis for online course, implement of design and course production, delivery the online course, and assessment and evaluation.

ItemDeterminants of quality in higher education: faculty perspective(Digital Production Press, Assumption University, 2017) Brahmakasikara, Laura ; Naree Achwarin ; Satha PhongsathaThere has been a debate amongst academicians as to what quality means in higher education. Quality means differently in each country depending on the context, political context, rules and regulations as what constitute quality since quality assurance practices vary from country to country as well as quality assurance requirements. Due to these discrepancies, this paper mainly focuses on key players the authors perceive as determinants of quality in higher education and their roles in pursuing continuous quality in the provision of education. They are the institution leaders which include the deans of each school, program directors and team leaders; faculty members, who are active players in the delivery of quality education, have the necessary academic qualifications and commitment and are constantly developing themselves through professional development initiatives; support staff, who provide the technical assistance and support to students and faculty members and the quality of students undertaking programs of study in an educational institution. These people are pivotal in ensuring that each member of the institution takes part in the provision of quality education. The authors believe that quality in education does not exist in paper only but quality means an interplay between the key players mentioned in this paper. This paper also discusses the roles and responsibilities of these important players to ensure quality in higher education.

ItemEffectiveness of the Pro Tools software to enhance vocal music students singing performance of a Polytechnic Institution in middle of ChinaThe purposes of this research were to 1) determine the effectiveness of the integration of ProTools software as a supplementary tool enhancing vocal music students’ singing performance, and 2) to identify the students’ satisfaction toward using ProTools software. A mixed-method research design of the quasi-experiment and the interview were conducted. The participants were 80 vocal music students aged 18-20 years at a Polytechnic Institution in Middle of China. Forty samples were assigned into the control group, and the other 40 were the experimental group. The 10 students from the experimental group were selected for the interview. The control group was taught traditionally while the experimental group was taught using ProTools software. The independent sample T-test was applied for hypotheses testing, while the content analysis was used for qualitative data analysis. The results revealed that the students from the experimental group had higher scores than the control group in all skills—pitch, rhythm, enunciation, singing ability, performance ability, and emotion controlling. Therefore, ProTools software serves as an effective learning tool to improve student vocal music performance. In addition, the students showed a positive satisfaction towards using ProTools software as the blended learning to enhance singing performance.

New technologies provide the opportunity and challenge teachers to perform virtual instructor roles. This research study reflected on the virtual instructor roles and online teaching experiences towards eLearning delivery mode. The objective of the study was to explore the virtual instructor roles and online teaching experiences at program level at Graduate School of eLearning, Assumption University of Thailand. The virtual instructor roles included three dimensions: pedagogical dimension, managerial dimension, and technological dimension. A qualitative case study method was used in this study which included the instructors’ positive impression towards on line teaching experiences. The respondents for the study were 15 faculties members from five online graduate programs at Graduate School of eLearning, Assumption University of Thailand. The structured questionnaire was used to obtain the qualitative data. The content analysis was used to analyze the qualitative data. Findings revealed that there were some similarities and differences on reflections, impressions, and online teaching experiences among the faculty members.

ItemManaging teacher acceptance of new technology: the case of robotics kit(Bangkok : Assumption University Press, 2021) Jarupan Noosong ; Naree Achwarin ; Somsit Duang-Ek-AnongThis quantitative research aims to identify a model for the acceptance of an educational robotics kit among primary school teachers, providing educators, administrators, and policy makers practical insight for planning design. This study collected the opinions from a population of 871 in-service teachers of mathematics, science, and technology, at public and private primary schools in Phatthalung province. Purposive sampling and quota sampling were applied, generating a total of 488 responses, collected via questionnaire. The data were analyzed using a structural equation modeling method, generating a structural model to predict the behavioral intent for the adoption of the educational robotics kit. The model comprised of 4 independent variables – perceived ease of use; technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge; perceived usefulness; and facilitating conditions. The model explained 88.2 percent of the variance in behavioral intentions. The findings revealed that perceived usefulness had the strongest direct effect on behavioral intentions. Perceived ease of use had the strongest indirect and total effect on behavioral intentions; moreover, it produced a direct effect on perceived usefulness. In addition, perceived ease of use could be predicted by technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge. The implications discussed include the suggested managerial actions to stimulate the intention to adopt educational robotics kits in accordance with the findings.

ItemThe application of virtual reality technology to enhance students' chorus conducting performance in a technology institute in southeast ChinaThis research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the application of VR technology as a supplementary tool for enhancing students' chorus conducting performance and determining the students' satisfaction with using VR technology to enhance students' chorus conducting performance. A mixed research design was used for this study: quasi-experiment as quantitative research and face-to-face interview as qualitative research. The participants in this study were 60 music students at Changshu Institute of Technology. Aged 18- 20 years and are music teacher majors. The participants in the quasi-experiment were divided into two groups: 30 participants for the control group and 30 participants for the experimental group. Ten students were recruited from the experimental group to conduct face-to-face interview. A traditional classroom was used for the control group and blended learning with VR technology integration was developed as a supplement for the experimental group. The researcher employed an independent sample T-test to test the hypotheses and content analysis to analyze qualitative data. The results revealed that four variables had higher scores and there was significant improvement in the conducting skills of students in the experimental group than in the control group. The results revealed that blended learning using VR technology serves as an effective learning tool to improve student chorus conducting performance. The students presented a positive reflection and satisfaction toward using VR technology to enhance students' chorus conducting performance throughout the teaching and learning process.
