ItemA comparative correlational study of grades six to eight students' perceptual learning style prefference and their learning achievement at Pan-Asia International School, ThailandThe purpose of this study was to investigate the perceptual learning styles of the grades six to eight middle school students in Pan-Asia International School located in Bangkok, Thailand. This study was also to determine the preferred learning styles of the students and compare those learning styles with the students’ learning achievement. The research was conducted from December 14 to 16, 2015 in the first semester of the 2015-2016 academic school year at Pan-Asia International School. In this study, Reid’s Perceptual Learning Styles Questionnaire was used as the primary source of data collection. The data collected from the questionnaire was analyzed by Percentage & Frequency, Means & Standard Deviations, One Way ANOVA and Pearson Product – Moment Correlation Coefficient. This study found that the participants preferred group learning style followed by mixed, kinesthetic, individual & auditory, tactile and visual learning styles. There was no significant difference between the grade six to eight middle school students’ learning achievement, according to their most preferred learning style. The results of this study demonstrated that the grades six to eight middle school students did favor group projects as their most preferred learning style. There was no relationship between learning styles and learning achievement. Teachers should be aware of what learning styles are and how students are predetermined to prefer their own unique learning styles. Any teacher has their own methods of classroom instruction. Some teachers are aware of learning styles and can use learning styles to help with classroom engagement and higher student learning achievement. It is recommended that Pan-Asia International School uses current data to plan future professional development and school-wide changes in teacher instruction to help create a learning environment that best supports students’ learning styles.

ItemA comparative study of Grade 12 students' use of direct and indirect second language learning strategies according to their gender and classes at Luchuan High school, Guangxi, ChinaThis research mainly focused on the Chinese Grade 12 students’ use of second language learning strategies during the academic year 2016-2017, at Luchuan High school, Guangxi, China. A total of 120 students from grade 12 in this study. The data were collected based on the questionnaire of learning strategies for English learning. The study found that Grade 12 students used both direct strategies and indirect strategies for their English learning at a medium level; the use of overall learning strategies was also at a medium level. There was no significantly difference of students' use of second language learning strategies according to their gender, the direct strategies and indirect strategies. There is a significant difference of students' use of second language learning strategies according to their classes.

ItemA comparative study of Grades 7, 8 and 9 students' motivation for learning English as a foreign language in the regular program and English program at Tepleela School, Bangkok, ThailandThis study aimed to identify the levels of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation for grades 7, 8 and 9 students to learn English as foreign language in the Regular Program and in the English Program firstly; then, to compare the students’ intrinsic and extrinsic motivation to learn English as a foreign language between the Regular and English Program. The participants of this study were 253 students from grade 7, 8, and 9 of the Regular and English Program studying English as a foreign language at Tepleela School, Bangkok, Thailand. The study used MALESC questionnaire, which was composed of 19 statements on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. The findings of this study were: 1) the levels of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation to learn English as a foreign language in the Regular Program was high; 2) the levels of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation to learn English as a foreign language in the English Program was high; 3) there was no significant difference in students’ intrinsic motivation to learn English as a foreign language between the Regular and English Program; 4) There was a significant difference in students’ extrinsic motivation to learn English as a foreign language between the Regular and English Program.

ItemA comparative study of middle school deaf students' perceptions towards vocational internships according to their gender, grade level and family income at the Special Education School of Qujing, ChinaThe purpose of this study was to identify the demographic factors of the deaf students, to determine the deaf students’ perceptions towards vocational internships, and to compare the deaf students’ perceptions towards vocational internships at the Special Education School of Qujing according to gender, grade level and family income in 2015. A total of 147 deaf students (106 male and 41 female), from grade level 7 to vocational high school completed the survey. Statistical measures employed included frequency and percentage, mean and standard deviation, one-way ANOVA and independent samples t-test. The result of this study has indicated that gender difference was not a significant issue to impact students’ perceptions, yet the researcher discovered that students from different grade levels and different extents of family income had significant perception differences. Specifically, students from a higher grade level had higher perceptions than those from lower grade levels. In terms of family income, students from families whose monthly income was lower or included 1000 RMB had lower perceptions than other students. Recommendations for directors, teachers, the school, the students and future researchers are provided.

ItemA comparative study of students' perception of community involvement according to their grade and family income at basic education high school Kwanthair Village, Chaungzon Township, Mon State, MyanmarThe primary purpose of this research study was to compare students’ perceptions of community involvement, according to their grade and family income, in Kwanthair Village High School, Chaungzon Township, Mon State, Myanmar. The study was conducted with grades 10 and 11, a total of 136 students, during the academic year 2016-2017. It was designed as a quantitative and comparative study. A questionnaire was used for data collection which was adopted from Rivera (2001) based on Epstein’s (1995) six types of framework of involvement. The questionnaire consisted of two parts: Part I investigated the participants’ grade and family income, and Part II compared students’ perceptions of community involvement. The data collected from the survey was analyzed by Descriptive Statistics, Frequency and Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation, t-test and One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Although the research finding results showed that there were no significant differences with students’ perceptions of community involvement, according to their grade and family income, students had positive views for continued community involvement in their education. The findings of this study could be helpful to administrators, teachers, parents and future researchers as to the importance of students’ perceptions of community involvement, and how it impacts on their achievement and educational performance.

ItemA comparative study of students' perceptions of expected ICT use and actual ICT use in classroom practices at Nawaminthrachnuthit Bodindecha School, ThailandThe purpose of this study was to determine if students’ perceptions of expected Information Communication Technology (ICT) use were being met. This research study examined grade 10 through 12 students’ perceptions of expected and actual ICT use in three subjects; English, Mathematics and Science. The research was conducted on 9 different classes at Nawaminthrachinutit Bodindecha: three classes for each grade level. Also, one class in each grade level represented the one of the three main programs of study: English; Mathematics; and Science. Through the use of a questionnaire that was created by the researcher, he compared upper secondary students’ perceptions of expected ICT use to their perceptions of actual ICT use. This study is relevant because the Ministry of Education in Thailand is putting forth great effort to implement the curriculum reforms, which emphasize the utilization of ICTs in the teaching and learning process. This research concluded that although the level of upper secondary students perceptions of actual ICT use is high, their perceptions of expected ICT use are not being met in all three subjects examined. Future studies should examine lower secondary students’ and teachers’ perceptions. Courses should be examined individually instead of grouped together by general subject content. Research should be conducted in rural areas of Thailand where ICT is less prevalent. Finally, when expectations are not met it lowers motivation. Future researcher should examine how unmet expectations of ICT use affect student motivation.

ItemA comparative study of students' satisfaction towards service quality according to their demographics at Angkor Khemera University (AKU) in Kompongspeu Province in CambodiaThis study was conducted to compare students' satisfaction towards service quality according to their demographics at Angkor Khemera University (AKU) in Kompongspeu Province in Cambodia. The collected data were analyzed by Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, Independent Samples t-test, and One-Way ANOVA. The result found that there were no significant differences of the students’ satisfaction towards service quality according to their demographics (gender, age and grade level) at AKU in Kompongspeu in Cambodia. In general, the total mean score of students' satisfaction towards service quality of AKU in Cambodia was regarded high. However, the mean score of students' satisfaction towards academic aspect was regarded the highest, while the mean score of students' satisfaction towards group size aspect was regarded the lowest.

ItemA comparative study of students' self-efficacy for the use of educational technology according to their demographics in the MBA fast track program at the Graduate School of Business, Assumption University of ThailandThis study aimed to identify and compare students’ self-efficacy for the use of educational technology according to their demographics of 215 students from semester 1/2015, 2/2015 and 3/2015 in the MBA Fast Track Program at the Graduate School of Business, Assumption University of Thailand. The study was conducted in academic year 2015. The study used quantitative and comparative research methodologies. This study had three objectives. The first objective was to identify the students’ demographics, the second objective was to identify students’ self-efficacy for the use of educational technology and the third objective was to compare students’ self-efficacy for the use of educational technology according to their demographics in the MBA Fast Track Program. The researcher used a questionnaire survey based on Bandura’s Self-efficacy theory to address students’ self-efficacy for the use of Educational Technology to the MBA Fast Track Program’s students at the Graduate School of Business, Assumption University of Thailand. This research concluded that there were no significant differences of students’ self-efficacy for the use of educational according to their demographics in the MBA Fast Track Program at the Graduate School of Business, Assumption University of Thailand.

ItemA comparative study of students' use of peer learning according to selected demographics in the Graduate School of Business, Assumption University of ThailandPeer learning has been shown to be one of the most effective strategies for improving students' learning, boosting motivation, and strengthening friendship. The study set out to investigate the use of peer learning and to explore the extent to which the students use this strategy in their academic lives. It also aimed to report the differences in the use of peer learning among the students according to the selected demographics. The research involved students from the Graduate School of Business, Assumption University of Thailand. A convenience sampling was used and the data were collected through the researcher-created questionnaire. Findings demonstrated that the students often used peer learning and the learning environment was desirable to encourage this type of learning. At the same time, there were significant differences in the use of peer learning according to the students' gender, nationality, and employment status. Yet, for the variable of age, no significant difference was found.

ItemA comparative study of teacher competence according to their demographics in Hanzhong High School of Shaanxi Province, ChinaThe main purpose of this research is to identify the level of teacher competence according to teachers’ demographics factors including age, gender, and education background in Hanzhong High School of Shaanxi Province. Five components of teacher competence are pre-instruction, presentation, student learning, learning environment and professionalism. This study used the original questionnaire by Huyen (2003) study, which was adopted it from Medley (1977). All 168 full time teachers were surveyed in this study in Hanzhong High School of Shaanxi Province in the academic year 2018. This study found that there were significant differences about teacher competence according to age and education background in Hanzhong High School of Shaanxi Province. But there is no significant difference about teacher competence according to gender. For five components of teacher competence, teachers got the highest score in professionalism, but teachers have some problems in presentation.

ItemA comparative study of teachers' decision making styles and their job satisfaction in four selected migrant high schools in Mae Sot district, Tak Province, ThailandThe main purpose of this study was to determine the differences of teachers' decision-making styles with their job satisfaction in four selected migrant high schools in Mae Sot district, Tak Province, Thailand. A total of one hundred and sixteen (116) teachers from the four schools were surveyed. The main source of the data was a set of questionnaires which investigated the teachers' decision making styles and their job satisfaction levels. The collected data were analyzed by using the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and one-way ANOVA. The study found that "Group Decision Making Style" was the most perceived decision making style used by the teachers in the four schools, and from the results of teachers' satisfaction, it was found that their job satisfaction levels were regarded as 'neither'. Therefore the hypothesis was accepted as the study discovered that there was a significance difference in teachers' job satisfaction between teachers who preferred autocratic decision making style and teachers who preferred consultative decision making style among different decision making styles in the four selected migrant high schools in Mae Sot district, Tak Province, Thailand. Teachers are recommended to establish a teachers' group to regularly meet and discuss openly all issues in their professional and personal lives which impact their decision-making and job satisfaction. They should be made aware of the impact these issues can have on their own performance and student achievement, Schools Leaders and Administrators should recognize the importance of decision-making and that it could affect the school's success or failure. A workshop should be set up immediately for both teachers and leaders to get practical experience in making the best choice of decision making styles. Also weekly teacher development meetings should be arranged for all teachers to discuss and share ideas on job satisfaction issues, both intrinsic and extrinsic. Future researchers are recommended to conduct similar studies on other management issues in schools to improve teachers' job satisfaction and the academic progress of students, e.g. student-based learning, student and teacher motivation, teacher incentives and rewards. These studies would be invaluable in improving the education system in Myanmar and to bring them in line with standards in firstly ASEAN member countries and worldwide.

ItemA comparative study of teachers' perception of retention according to their demographic factors at Yunnan Normal University Business School in Yunnan Province, ChinaThe main purpose of this study aimed to compare the teachers' perception of retention according to their age, gender, marital status, major, education level, residence registration and income at Yunnan Normal University Business School, China in the academic year 2013-2014. A total number of full-time teachers at Yunnan Normal University Business School in Yunnan Province of China were surveyed for this study. The study utilized Frequency and Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation, and The Independent Samples t-test to analyze the data. Dealing with the collected data, the study reported the demographic factors of teachers at the current school; identified the teachers' perception of retention at the current school; compared the teachers' perception of retention according to their demographic factors at the current school. The significant differences in teachers' perception of retention according to their demographic factors at Yunnan Normal University Business School in Yunnan Province, China were found by the study.

ItemA comparative study of teachers' perception towards extracurricular activities according to their demographics in giraffe English School Nanjing, ChinaThis study attempted to determine and compare the teachers’ perception towards extracurricular activities according to their demographics in Giraffe English school, Nanjing City, Jiangsu province, China. A total of 75 full time teachers got involved in this study during the academic year 2017. The researcher adopted the questionnaire based on Judith’s (1978) to determine teachers’ perception towards extracurricular activities of 2 indicators including inclusive activities and exclusive activities in Giraffe English School Nanjing China. The study found that the total teachers’ perception towards extracurricular activities were moderate. There were significant differences of teachers’ perception towards extracurricular activities among teachers with different gender, age, work experience and background of study in Giraffe English School.

ItemA comparative study of teachers' perception towards principal's leadership behavior according to their demographics at Pitaka Buddhist Monastic Educational Isntitute, Shan state, Union of MyanmarThis study attempted to demonstrate and compare the teachers’ perception towards principal’s leadership behavior according to their demographic profile at Pitaka Buddhist Monastic Educational Institute (PBMEI). The total participants were 54 monk-teachers involvement and distributed from Buddhist Institute in academic year of 2018. The revised two parts questionnaire were used as a research instrumental tool to meet the research objectives. Questionnaire part one was the demographic profile and the questionnaire part two was path-goal leadership behavior adopted by Indvik (1985). Four styles of path-goal leadership theory such as supportive, directive, participative, achievement-oriented was developed by House (1971) and used as a main theory framework to investigate the principal's leadership behavior. The data analysis used the frequency and percentage, mean and standard deviation, and One-way ANOVA. Regarding to the results found, principal perceived as neutral level of leadership style, neither reward nor intervention consistently related medium to principal behavior by teachers' perspective. Thus, this study confirmed that there were no statistically significant differences of teachers’ perception towards principal's leadership behavior according to their demographics profile.

ItemA comparative study of teachers' perception towards school environment according to their demographics at Zhaotong experimental primary school, Yunnan province, ChinaThis study attempted to determine and compare the teachers’ perception towards school environment according to their demographics at Zhaotong experimental primary school, Yunnan province, China. A total of 157 teachers from grade 1 to 6 got involved in this study during the academic year 2016-2017. The researcher adopted the questionnaire based on Kate (2005) to determine teachers’ perception towards school environment of 6 indicators including health policies, physical environment, social environment, school-community relation, personal skill building, and access to health services at Zhaotong experimental primary school. The study found that the total teachers’ perception towards school environment were positive. There was a significant difference of teachers’ perception towards school environment among teachers in different teaching grades at Zhaotong experimental primary school.

ItemA comparative study of teachers' perception towards values education management according to their demographics at Bangkok Christian International School, ThailandThe primary purpose of this research was to determine teachers' perceptions towards values education management according to their demographics in Bangkok Christian International School in Thailand. The study surveyed all 45 teachers in Pre-school, Elementary school, and High school department at Bangkok Christian International School in Thailand during the academic year 2016-2017. The research used the questionnaire adopted from Ye’s (2006) study, based on the Ministerial Council on Education in Australian (2002). The research found that teachers' perception towards values education management at BCIS in Bangkok, Thailand was regarded as much practice, and there were no significant differences in the teachers’ perception towards values education management according to their demographics, including gender, nationality, educational background, and teaching experience at Bangkok Christian International School in Thailand. For the school improvement regarding values education management, administrators and teachers at the school were recommended to develop the channel of conversation and cooperation with parents, create projects to promote the fundamental values of Christian values, and improve the effective planning and management for enhancing Christian values development.

ItemA comparative study of teachers' perceptions towards school's professional development according to their demographics at No. 26 Basic Education High School in Mandalay, MyanmarThe main purpose of this study was to compare the significant differences in the teachers’ perceptions towards school’s professional development according to their demographics: age, grade level currently teaching and years of teaching experience at No. 26 Basic Education High School in Mandalay, Myanmar. The participants of this study were 96 teachers from No. 26 Basic Education High School at Mandalay, Myanmar during the academic year 2015-2016. This study was designed as quantitative and comparative study. Data was gathered using the research instrument, 5 Likert scaled questionnaire that consisted of two parts; Part I investigated the participants’ demographics and Part II compared the teachers’ perceptions. The data collected from the survey was analyzed by descriptive statistics; Frequency & Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation and comparative analysis; One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The transformed data of this study showed that teachers from No. 26 Basic Education High School, Mandalay had “positive” perceptions towards their school’s development activities. However, the comparative analysis described that there were no significant differences in the teachers’ perceptions towards school’s professional development according to their demographics: age, and grade level currently teaching and years of teaching experience at No. 26 Basic Education High School in Mandalay, Myanmar. Though the findings revealed no significant differences, it gave some ideas to create a professional development encompassing teachers’ multiple viewpoints in order to professionally organized learning environment where teachers’ wants, needs meet and it will make the students learn successfully.

ItemA comparative study of university students' perceptions towards parental involvement according to their demographics at Myanmar institute of theology in Yangon, MyanmarThe major purpose of this study was to investigate the amount of parental involvement from the perspectives of today’s university students including the examination of several variables (gender, ethnic background, parents’ annual income, parents’ education background, and location) to determine if different amount of parental involvement exists according to the students’ demographics at Liberal Arts program in Myanmar Institute of Theology, Yangon, Myanmar. A questionnaire was utilized as the primary research instrument. A total of 212 university freshmen studying at Liberal Arts program in academic year of (2016-2017) were selected as the participants in this study. The study found that university students at Liberal Arts program received “moderate involvement” from their parents during their university experiences. In addition, significant differences in university students’ perceptions towards parental involvement were witnessed according to their gender and parents’ annual income, even though there were no significant differences in university students’ perceptions towards parental involvement according to their ethnic background, parents’ education background, and location.

ItemA comparative study on psychology graduate students' learning difficulties and satisfaction from three types of university in ThailandThis study mainly aimed to identify and compare the Psychology graduate students’ learning difficulties and satisfaction from three different types of university in Thailand, including Assumption University, Chulalongkorn University and Burapha University. All 99 students who currently study in Psychology graduate program of three universities during 2013-2014 were used as the sample for this study. The study used descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, means, standard divisions, and one way ANOVA to deal with the data. Analyzing of the collected data, the study reported the demographics and other background information of the current Psychology graduate students from three universities; identified their learning difficulties; determined and compared their learning satisfaction from these three different types of University in Thailand. Significant difference of the students’ satisfaction between the private university and the public university was found by the study.
