ItemA critical discourse analysis of the news articles and reports about Diaoyu/Senkadu issuesThe critical discourse analysis (CDA) is now a major tool for analyzing the news articles and reports. It aims to help English language teachers using CDA to create and improve the critical language awareness of students, and how discourse results from the social structure and power relations that serves discourse results from the social structure and power relations that serves different power groups. Through the analysis of articles of Diaoyu/Senkaku issues from Chinese newspaper the People's Daily and Japanese newspaper the Japan Times, it is clear that these two newspapers, which have two different political backgrounds, share some obvious similarities in terms of formatting. However, the differences are of much more significant as reflected in the construction of the texts and the lexical choices, modality and process types used in expressing the different views. In English language teaching, using authentic materials, such as newspaper articles and reports, makes the skill of CDA important as a teaching tool as it may help the English language learners to create and improve their language awareness and the ideology embedded in the texts.

ItemAn examination of foreign policy strategies of middle powers during great competition: a case study of Thailand's strategic hedging between a dominant USA and ascending China( 2019) Mandiolaza, Gustavo A.Recent years has seen confusion in the international political system as the hegemony of the U.S. has waned while China’s international influence has dramatically increased. This change to the status quo from a unipolar system immediately after the Cold War to a bipolar or multipolar system has compelled states in the Asia region to formulate strategies in response to this change. The three typical strategies available to a state are what is referred to as bandwagoning, balancing, and this article’s focus; hedging. In the case of Thailand, being relatively far removed from the epicentre of any future confrontation between Washington and Beijing, the state has options as to how it will approach the upcoming change in the regional power distribution. This essay intends to analyse the foreign policy strategy of Bangkok from early 2012 to the contemporary period to determine whether trends have emerged that may illustrate the direction of its foreign policy in the near future. By examining recent hardware purchase diversification, public statements, and the changing nature of military exercises between Thailand and the USA and Thailand and China, it is possible to make the conclusion that Thailand has adopted a hedging policy. This essay will explore how Thailand has moved beyond the traditional Thai-U.S. Alliance that lasted for most of the Cold War and is now entering into a more pragmatic position where overt allegiance is less public than before, prompting questions and possibly suspicion from both great powers in the near future.

Firstly, the researcher conducted two rounds of interviews as a qualitative research, and then designed a questionnaire. All 100 sets of questionnaires were distributed via Wenjuanxing Forms (online survey). Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) was applied and the findings show that brand image has the greatest significant impact on purchase intention of BYD new energy vehicles, while subjective norm is the second, following by self-image congruence. This study will greatly help researchers and practitioners understand the complex relationships among brand image, brand reputation, self-image congruence, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control and environmental attitude towards purchase intention of BYD new energy vehicles in China.

ItemFactors impacting the usage intention of learning management system in higher educationThe purpose of this research is to examine the factors impacting the usageintention of the Learning Management System (LMS) in higher education ofSichuan, China. Research design, data and methodology:Sample data was collected by using quantitative method and questionnaire as a tool.Item-Objective Congruence and pilot test were adopted to test the content validity and reliabilityof questionnaire before distribution.Data was analyzed by utilizingConfirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural EquationModeling to validate model’s goodness of fit and confirm the causal relationship among variablesfor hypothesis testing. Results:The studyhasfound that the conceptual model was able to predict the behavioral intention (BI) to useLMS in higher educations. Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Attitude Towards Using(ATU) are two key antecedentsof BI to use LMS.Conclusions:PU was the strongest predictor of BI to use both directly and indirectly, which PU was driven significantly by service quality, information quality, and system quality. Therefore, this study suggestedthat developers of LMS course and management of higher education institutions should focus on improving thequality factors of LMSfor students to perceive the system as useful and would further formulate favorable attitude and behavioral intention toward using LMS.

The conceptual framework has been adopted from the theoretical studies and research models of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). A sample of 450 respondents was collected from online questionnaires using the multi-stage sampling technique of probability and non-probability sampling method for quantitative research to reach target respondents of experienced university students. The collected data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) to confirm the model fit and hypothesis testing. The results revealed that social influence was the most influential factor in behavioral intention, followed by attitude. The statistical finding shows no significant influence of facilitating conditions on behavioral intention. In addition, the antecedent of attitude was perceived usefulness. Therefore, the management of universities, lecturers, and marketing partitioners should emphasize building positive direct experience and ensuring benefits from using online learning platforms to formulate favorable attitudes, recommend to other peers, and encourage the usage behavioral intention for university students.
