ItemSTEM: a study in the schools of Dubai, UAE(8th Annual International Conference on Education & e-Learning (EeL 2018), GSTF, ISSN 2251-1814, doi: 10.5176/2251-1814_EeL18.121, 2018-09-24) Varughese Kizhakkacharuvil John ; Manoj Mechankara VargheseScience, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) is a mode of education to mold scientists, engineers, and technocrats to mitigate the challenges of the 21st century. The STEM curriculum has been designed for school education (K-12) to cultivate the habit of critical thinking and problem solving from childhood. This study has been conducted in the STEM schools of Dubai, UAE to determine the interest of students in pursuing STEM education and STEM career. Also, the effectiveness of teaching and efficiency of teachers have been assessed. The overall results of the study proved that STEM students in Dubai schools have a genuine interest in the subjects and the Schools are providing a nurturing environment for STEM education. However, the lack of teachers’ commitment to the delivery of topics in the classroom is to be tackled by appropriate measures.

ItemA study on the effectiveness of ecological civilization education in experimental school of Chinese education for sustainable developmentEcological civilization is the wisdom crystallization of China's long-term explorations and researches based on Marxist ecological theory and scientific outlook on development, and the essence is to achieve sustainable development. Since the beginning of the new century, our government has attached great importance to ecological civilization and sustainable development and school education played an important role in this process. With the active promotion of international and domestic related policies and education administrative departments, ecological civilization education deepen its development. This paper focuses on the summary and analysis of the main implementation models and achievements in promoting ecological civilization education by experimental schools of education for sustainable development in the field of elementary education in recent years, aiming at providing reference for further promoting ecological civilization and sustainable development from the perspective of education.

ItemToward High Performance Organization using Path-Goal Theory and Transformation Theories: A case Study of St.Louis School ChachoengsaoIn this study, the main objectives were : to assess the current levels of leadership skills of the leadership team, staff engagement, and the performance effectiveness of the staff ; to design Organization Development Interventions (ODI) that will enhance the leadership skills, staff engagement and the performance effectiveness; to implement ODI and to evaluate the initial effects of ODI on the levels of leadership skills staff engagement and the performance effectiveness; and to propose a Roadmap that will sustain the initial positive effects of the ODI to further develop SLC as an excellent academic institution. The pretest survey questions on leadership skills and styles by ass leaders, and employee engagement questionnaires survey were administered prior to implementing the OD interventions. A SOAR Workshop was also conducted to know the priorities of the school community in its future direction and be the basis for the research study. The research process involved the Pre-ODI, the implementation of OD and the Post-OD were conducted. At the beginning of the process, the 3 workshops were conducted with 248 Thai teachers as participants. The three workshops were on Whole-Brain Based Organization Development, Responsible Gap for Engagement, and Team Building Workshop. Random Interviews with 22 teachers, 10 parents and 15 alumni were also conducted. The results showed significant improvements on the leadership styles and the employee engagements. The performance effectiveness of the teachers showed no significant improvement. The results of the interviews with teachers, parents and alumni were positive on performance effectiveness. The researcher proposed 5 roadmaps for SLC future development on leadership skills, personnel, academic and students development, so that SLC will be the high performing school in the future.
