ItemThe effect of organization development intervention on structural and psychological empowerment to enhance innovative work behavior: an action research in a technical school in Thailand(Assumption University Press, 2018) Tamonwan Somsriruen ; Chavez, Gloria S. ; Tayko, Perla Rizalina M.This research investigated the effect of organization development interventions (ODI) in improving structural and psychological empowerment, to promote innovative work behavior among organization members, in a technical school in Thailand. Using an action research design, the ODI activities were conducted for a six month period with 36 employees. Quantitative and qualitative methods were used to explore and gather data at all levels (executives, heads of department, and employees). The action research was conducted in three phases: pre-ODI, ODI, and post-ODI. The findings revealed, that employees were able to generate new ideas through connecting with others, and were able to develop and implement ideas related to their own work.

ItemEmpowerment program on promoting perceived self-efficacy in caregivers of autistic childrenThis study was a Quasi-experimental pretest-posttest non-equivalent comparison group design, aimed to evaluate the effects of the empowerment program for caregivers of autistic children. The participants were 74 caregivers who took care of 2-5 years old autistic children at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Institute, Rajanakarin. After being enrolled into the study, the participants were matched by caregivers’ and children’s gender and assigned to the experimental group (37 participants) or the control group (37 participants).The experimental group completed the 5-day empowerment program which was administered by the researcher whereas the control group received only the routine treatment program. The empowerment program was composed of 4 steps: discovering reality, critical reflection, taking charge and holding on through group process. The data was gathered at the pre-test and at the 4th, 8th and 12th week after the intervention program.The findings revealed that the experimental group had statistically significantly higher scores on perceived self-efficacy in care of autistic children than the control group (p < .001) and there was a statistically significant difference between the 4th and 12th weeks (p < .05).The evidence from this study indicated that this program had effect on promoting perceived self-efficacy in autistic child care. The application of this program is suggested for all caregivers of 2-5 years old autistic children.

ItemFactors influencing job satisfaction of Gen X and Gen Y in a financial institution: a case study of global payment service departmentFinancial institutions are very competitive and developing its human resources is one of the strategies to make companies strong and competitive. Job satisfaction is one of the key factors that motivate employees to do their best. In this research, data was collected using offline and online questionnaire from 135 employees who currently work at a Global Payment Service Department. The survey included five-point Likert scale to measure four independent variables (participation in decision making, empowerment, reward and recognition and workplace environment) and job satisfaction. The findings indicated that it is important for managers to improve job satisfaction to enhance retention rate and job loyalty.

Kaizen can be an integrated and company-wide approach through collaboration of all the levels of the organization: top management, middle managers and front-line employees. Commitment, genuine participation and motivation of all the three actors are critical factors. The purpose of this study is to assess the methods and challenges faced by ABC Engineering Pvt., Ltd. in executing and sustaining kaizen. Quality circles were established and the 5S’s were deployed as a beginning of kaizen execution in the firm.

ItemA proposed HR plan to enhance employee motivation: a case of MTA state enterprise, Thailand( 2019) Somchai Rattanaparinyanon ; Somchai TantasaneeNowadays, with the reality of competitiveness, every organization is struggling to obtain competitive benefits as well as better performance and attain productivity plus effectiveness. Companies throughout the world, therefore, take human resources into account as the essence for business as they constantly escalate employee motivation as the force in letting employees achieve goals and organizational objectives towards more effective organizational performance. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of intrinsic and extrinsic motivational factors among operational-level officers affecting organizational performance of MTA state enterprise, Thailand and recommend plans to enhance their motivation for better company performance. Quantitative data was obtained through distributed online and paper questionnaires from 260 officers at operational level used as sample size. The results revealed that there was significant effect between recognition, empowerment, performance appraisal, and training and career development toward organizational performance ; whereas as for demographic factors, there was significant difference among only genders and performance. Among all of these five independent antecedents, recognition possessed the strongest effect on organizational performance. It could be concluded that it is imperative for the HR department of MTA state enterprise to implement plans on enhancing their motivation through relevant workshops, activities and set-up new criteria or regulations within the company in exchange for higher organizational performance.

ItemA study of the relationship between transformational leadership and teacher empowerment at Daruna Ratchaburi Witaed Suksa School in Ratchaburi Province, Thailand( 2021) Mon, Naw Ei ; Ye, YanThe purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between Transformational Leadership and Teacher Empowerment based on the perceptions of teachers at the school of Daruna Ratchaburi Witaed Suksa in Ratchaburi Province, Thailand. Based on two variables, there were three objectives: (1) To identify the level of teachers' perceptions on Transformational School Leadership, (2) To examine the level of teachers' perceptions on Teacher Empowerment, (3) To determine if there were any significant relationship between two of those variables. In this study, the quantitative methodology was used along with 106 participant teachers at the school of DRWS. In research findings, it showed the overall scores of Transformational School Leadership and Six Dimensions of Teacher Empowerment got high level in the perceptions of teachers. Then, the positive significant correlation had occurred between Transformational School Leadership and Teacher Empowerment. Considering those results, both of those variables were moving in the same direction. It, thus, could be said the more Transformational School Leadership performed in the school, the greater teachers felt empowerment in their work life. Thus, it was recommended that in order to apply on the concept of beginning from school principal to teacher empowering, through which the feeling of empowerment of the teachers, would flow to student empowerment (Short & Reinhard,1992), it required to conduct the relationship of Transformational School Leadership, Teacher Empowerment, and Student Achievement in both at the private and public educational sectors, in Thailand.
