    An application of blake and mouton's leadership styles of seminarians of Saint Joseph major seminary in Ho Chi Minh City diocese during serving at Parish

    The purpose of this study was to use the theory of Blake and Mouton’s leadership Grid to measure seminarians’ behaviors in when they served at parishes. The objectives were (1) to determine the leadership styles the seminarians applied during serving at parish; (2) to examine relationship between seminarians’ leadership styles and their demographic profile; (3) to compare the difference in Team leadership styles among age groups, diocese groups, educational attainment groups, and work experience groups. The research method using in this study was quantitative. A Likert scale questionnaire which based on Blake and Mouton’s leadership Grid theory was used to determine leadership styles of 168 seminarians of five classes from three dioceses at Saint Joseph Major Seminary of Ho Chi Minh City diocese. The data from questionnaire was analyzed by using SPSS program. The findings of this study demonstrated that there was a dominant leadership style the seminarians applied during serving at parish; seminarians’ leadership styles were no related to age, diocese, educational attainment, and work experience; Team leadership style of seminarians were no significantly different among age groups, diocese groups, educational attainment groups, and work experience groups.

    The determinants of subordinates' perceived leadership styles in small and medium enterprises in Thailand

    This study aims to examine the determinant factors of perceived leadership style in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Thailand. Discriminant analysis results showed that leaders who used different leader- ship styles (coercive, authoritative, affiliative, democratic, pacesetting and coaching) had different degrees of emotional intelligence, personality traits, adversity quotient, and ethics ofleadership.

    The relationship between foreign teachers' perception of leadership styles and motivation at Assumption College Bangrak Campus, Bangkok

    The main purpose of this study was to investigate the possible relationship between foreign teachers’ perception of leadership styles and motivation at Assumption College Bangrak Campus, in which 51 foreign teachers participated. For the 3 research objectives a quantitative study was used with the following purpose: (1) To investigate foreign teachers’ perception on the leadership style of the administrator of Assumption College Bangrak Campus. (2) To investigate foreign teachers’ perception on their own motivation at Assumption College Bangrak Campus. (3) To investigate if a significant relationship between foreign teachers’ perception on the leadership style of the administrator of Assumption College Bangrak Campus and their own motivation exist. The main research instrument consisted of 44 different research questions, which were adapted from Johnson’s study on employee motivation (1997), and from Indvik’s study on the path-goal theory (1985). The results showed that (1) the leadership style of the administrator of Assumption College Bangrak Campus is perceived to be supportive leadership by the majority of foreign teachers, (2) the majority of foreign teachers perceive their own motivation to be the need to fulfill esteem needs first and (3) there is a significant relationship between foreign teachers’ perception on the leadership style of the administrator of Assumption College Bangrak Campus and their own motivation.

    The relationship between instructors' transformational leadership style and their job satisfaction in nursing science faculty, University of Somalia

    This study investigated the relationship between instructors’ transformational leadership style and their job satisfaction in nursing science faculty, University of Somalia. This study aimed (1) to identify the degree in which transformational leadership style is used by the instructors; (2) to determine the satisfaction level of the instructors; and lastly (3) to examine the relationship between instructors’ transformational leadership style and job satisfaction of the nursing science instructors at University of Somalia. The study had 76 respondents, all full time instructors at the nursing science faculty and 100% of them responded to the survey. This research design was a quantitative and relationship study. A previously developed descriptive survey was used to investigate the Nursing Science department. The researcher used a statistical software program to analyze the collected data. This study found that the degree in which instructors use transformational leadership style was high, the instructors were overall highly satisfied with their job, and that there was a positive significant relationship between instructors’ transformational leadership style and their job satisfaction in nursing science faculty at the University of Somalia.

    THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TEACHERS’ PERCEPTION TOWARDS PRINCIPAL’S LEADERSHIP STYLE AND THEIR JOB SATISFACTION AT NO.1 BASIC EDUCATION MIDDLE SCHOOL IN YANGON, MYANMAR

    This study identified the relationship between teachers’ perception towards principal’s leadership style and their job satisfaction at No.1 Basic Education Middle School in Yangon, Myanmar. The research objectives were, (1) to identify principal’s leadership style, (2) to identify the level of teachers’ job satisfaction and, (3) to determine the relationship between teachers’ perception towards principal’s leadership style and their job satisfaction at No.1 Basic Education Middle School in Yangon, Myanmar. In this research, there were 65 respondents, all full-time teachers from kindergarten to primary. The study reported the transformational leadership style, transactional leadership style, and demographic factors of teachers. This study found that teachers’ perception towards principal leadership style resulted as moderate, teachers’ job satisfaction level resulted as moderate and there is a significant relationship between teachers’ perception towards principal’s leadership style and their job satisfaction at No.1 Basic Education Middle School in Yangon, Myanmar. The recommendations are (1) teachers should approach with different perception towards leadership style of their principal, (2) teachers should be more positive with challenges and decision-making, (3) principal should use more transformational leadership style. Further research should be conducted using other demographic factors of teachers at international school or private schools in Myanmar.

    A study of the relationship between leadership style and knowledge management in Pan-Asia international school

    This study examined the relationship between leadership and knowledge management in Pan-Asia International School. The hypothesis of this study is that there is a significant relationship between leadership style and knowledge management. The study included a sample of 35 teachers from a population of 49 teachers in this International School. Questionnaires were used as the research instruments to collect the demographic profile and to measure leadership style and knowledge management. Therefore, the research design of this study is quantitative. Descriptive method was used to identify leadership style of administrators and knowledge management of school and Pearson’s Product Correlation method was used to examine the relation of leadership style and knowledge management. According to the major research findings of this study, the teachers from PAIS perceived that their administrators have high transformational leadership style and they tend to agree that they perceive school knowledge managements. Moreover, regarding the relationship between total average of two leadership styles and knowledge management, the research finding showed that transformational leadership style is positively and significantly related to the knowledge management (p < 0.05).

    A study of the relationship between transformational leadership style and situational factors for successful operation at Assumption Samutprakan School, Thailand

    This correlational study examined the relationship between transformational leadership style and three situational factors (leader-member exchange or LMR, task structure or TS, and position power or PP) for successful operation at Assumption Samutprakarn School, Thailand. To meet the study’s objectives, all 99 administrators and academic departments of the target school were given a survey questionnaire to complete (Multi-Factor Leadership Questionnaire–to measure transformational leadership style, Situational Factor Questionnaire–to measure the three situational factors, and researcher-constructed questions aimed at depicting the demographic profile of the participants). The major findings of this study were: (1) The school administrators and academic departments perceived that they have high transformational leadership style, high leader-member relations, high task-structure, and high position power; (2) Transformation leadership style was not found to be significantly related to the leader-member relations situational factor (p>.05); (3) Transformational leadership style is positively and significantly related to the task-structure situational factor (p<.01); and (4) Transformational leadership style was positively and significantly related to the position power situational factor (p<.001).

    A study on leadership styles, job related factors and organizational cultures towards Job Satisfaction of Teachers in the Diocese of Diphu, India

    The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between the independent variables such as transformational leadership, transactional leadership, salary, job training, and supervision, working conditions, esprit de corps (team work), accountability, career progress, recognition, job clarity, adaptive culture and mission culture with dependent variable teachers' job satisfaction in the Diocese of Diphu, India. This study exclusively made use of survey methods to collect the data from 400 respondents and analyzed using SPSS 21.0. Descriptive statistics were used in describing the parameters of the respondents and inferential statistics were used to test hypotheses. The results of the Pearson Correlation Coefficient have shown that the independent variables such as salary, job training, supervision, working conditions, esprit de corps (team work), accountability, career progress, recognition and job clarity have positive correlation with teacher' job satisfaction in the Diocese of Diphu while the results of the multiple linear regression showed that transformational leadership, transactional leadership, adaptive culture and mission culture have a significant influence on teachers' job satisfaction in the Diocese of Diphu.
