ItemFindings of main obstacles facing Thai SMEs towards business growth sustainability( 2020) Sumontha Tonvongval ; Chamaiporn TantivongThis paper aims to provide insight information into main competencies thirty-four local Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) are lacking in order to achieve their business performance and sustained healthy economic growth. The data was obtained from Researchers' five day-planned productivity improvement to individual firms during the year 2017 to 2019 in Nakornpathom, Ratchaburi, Rayong, Samutprakan, and Samutsakorn provinces, and Bangkok. The information reveals that eighteen (18) or 52.94% of both small and medium enterprises have low entrepreneurial skills (the inability to identify and define a viable market niche, recognizing, envisaging, and formulating strategies for taking advantage of opportunities). This study also summarizes the lack of main management skills or competencies of the SMEs based on the study of Mitchelmore & Rowley (2009). The impact of these skills led to Thai SMEs' inability to: smoothly and continuously produce and deliver quality products to customers, keep costs down and compete, and attract and retain talent. Further studies should delve into specific entrepreneurial skills of SMEs owner/managers, which significantly impact firm performance and sustained growth. Consequently, current Thailand's SME promotion policies could be reviewed in order to differentiate existing promotional programs based on the quality of SMEs for their sustained development and effective utilization of SME's budgets.

ItemHybrid Technique and Competence Preserving Case Deletion Methods for Case Maintenance in Case-Based Reasoning( 2010) Lawanna, A. ; Daengdej, J.Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) is one of machine learning algorithms for problem solving and learning that caught a lot of attention over the last few years. In general, CBR is composed of four main phases: retrieve the most similar case or cases, reuse the case to solve the problem, revise or adapt the proposed solution, and retain the learned cases before returning them to the case base for learning purpose. Unfortunately, in many cases, this retain process causes the uncontrolled case base growth. The problem affects competence and performance of CBR systems after few runs. This paper proposes two case maintenance methods; the first method is Hybrid technique which combines case addition strategy and the footprint deletion and footprint utility deletion strategy and the second is competence-preserving case deletion technique which is consisted of four steps: determine a set of target problems, determine a candidate of cases , determine target problem and its candidate, delete less relevant cases.

ItemImproving quality and agent's performance in Bangkok call centresQuality in the call center industry is one of the major objectives difficult to achieve when considering call center agents, with their need to find a balance between the number of calls received, average handling time of calls, or post wrap-up time in each call. The focal firm, AURSA Company, realizes the importance of helping agents to develop and deliver the right kind of quality to customers on call. From data analysis, the researcher found that the company’s call center agents’ performance throughout 2017 was lower than expected. Therefore, this paper proposes a set of best practices for the company, gained from a review of the relevant literature. Under the proposed strategy, the best practices which were found to help agents to improve and deliver better quality service on call included weekly call assessment, coach model, and a knowledge management model. In addition, the researcher also suggests solutions to improve agent’s performance through ongoing support and communication, such as weekly one-on-one sessions, weekly team meetings, and training coaching sessions.

ItemQuality Assurance Training: Culture or Calamity( 2012-11) Shawyun, Teay ; Sabico, Shaun LouiePandemics of quality normally call for building a quality culture that ensures quality to be successful. Buildingquality culture, though a key factor of successful quality practices, should be an inherent predisposition of academics, rather than acquired quality culture through training. A key research question is whether training isrelated to a culture that pertains to quality and performance . This paper studies the assessors‘ training in quality assessment, perceived improvements in two main dimensions of knowledge, use of quality system, and theknowledge and skills enhancement in relation to human, system and cultural factors. Participants were given writtenpost-training assignments. Results of the perceived improvements were significant but the written assignmentsshowed otherwise. Based on the results, this paper provides an in-depth discussion of factors that can affect qualitytraining in relation to human, system and cultural factors. Results obtained will be used to develop a set of recommendations based on time, environment, interest, motivations, culture and mindset domains which are keyfactors that affect the culture of quality improvements and training.

ItemRaising awareness of career goals of insurance agents: a case study of Choomthong 24K26, AIA CompanyThis article is a summary of key study done on a group of AIA insurance agents (Choomthong 24K26). It focused on raising awareness of career goals of insurance agents. The study was based on three main factors; performance, excellence and self-development. The respondents of this study were 33 AIA agents who were selected according to their overall performance. Two main methods were used to collect data: interview and questionnaire. Data gathered through questionnaires were collected twice during the study period, firstly before ODI and secondly, after ODI while interview was only done after the ODI phase. There were various theories which aided in understanding the key factors behind the study. These were; whole brain, AIDA model, Ice-berg, Self-mastery model, Kurt Lewin's theory of change, Kotter's eight stages of change and lastly which was selected to guide in the ODI process was AI (Appreciative Inquiry). these theories gave an understanding on how the performance, self-development and excellence of an individual can be improved. Data analysis was done through the use of mean, standard deviation and the Wilcoxon matched-pair signed rank test. The alternative hypothesis for the study was that there is an impact of ODI on the performance, excellence and self-development of insurance agents. It was evident from the comparison of Pre and Post-ODI result of the data analysis that there was an improvement in the career goals of insurance thus the alternative hypothesis was accepted.

ItemValue at risk performance in cryptocurrencies(Assumption University Press, 2018) Danai Likitratcharoen ; Teerasak Na Ranong ; Ratikorn Chuensuksomboon ; Norrasate Sritanee ; Ariyapong PansriwongDue to conclusion could not rely on only one test, in this study, we apply various approaches to verify the actuary of VaR model to find out whether VaR model, especially historical VaR and delta normal VaR model, can provide the accura te risk measurement results for cryptocurrencies risk , especially CRIX, BTC, ETH and XRP . We use Kupiec’s POF test, Independence Test - Christoffersen (1998) and Joint Test that widely use for backtesting VaR model. Performance test results for risk measurem ent by historical VaR provide a fairly accurate over delta normal VaR when we use Kupiec’s POF - test for the accuracy of VaR model. Christoffersen (1998) independence test, the exceptions (failures) of historical VaR and delta normal VaR model show independ ence exceptions in accordance with an only high confidence level of critical values (0.99). Otherwise , the low confidence level of critical values (0.90 and 0.95) appears dependence exceptions. For the Joint test, we combine POF - test and independence test because each model has different advantages and disadvantages. The results show that historical VaR model is suitable for measuring cryptocurrency risk over delta normal VaR only high confidence level of critical values.
