ItemA study of Grade 12 students’ perceptions on the use of the cooperative learning approach for the English language teaching and learning at the selected school in Bangkok, ThailandThis study mainly determines the students’ perceptions of using the cooperative learning approach for English language teaching and learning at the selected school in Bangkok, Thailand. And to determine whether there were any significant differences between students’ perceptions of the use of cooperative learning approach for English teaching and learning and students’ gender and achievement (GPAX). The respondents were 130 grade 12 students and two English teachers at the selected school in 2020. The data were collected by questionnaire and two interview forms. Descriptive statistics analyzed the data (mean and standard deviation, independent sample t-test, and ANOVA) and content analysis. The findings of this study indicated: (1) the grade 12 students’ perceptions were positive in all areas of cooperative learning activities in English language teaching and learning at the selected school; (2) there were no significant differences between students’ gender and perceptions of the use of cooperative learning, there were also no significant differences between students’ achievement (GPAX) and perceptions of the use of cooperative learning; (3) the students found that the effects of cooperative learning include great communication, increased motivation, and interest while sometimes the class would be noisy; the teachers found that the effects of cooperative learning include improvement of contribution and discussion between students, decreased problems of teaching while group work would spend more time.

ItemA study of students' and teachers' perceptions towards using local folk stories for improving English reading skills at Kunshan Development Zone Senior High School, Jiangsu Province, ChinaThis study determined the students’ and teachers’ perceptions of using local folk stories to improve English reading skills at Kunshan Development Zone Senior High School, Jiangsu Province, China. This study has two research objectives: (1) identifying the students’ perceptions of using local folk stories to improve English reading skills at Kunshan Development Zone Senior High School, Jiangsu Province, China. (2) to identify the teachers’ perceptions of using local folk stories to improve English reading skills at Kunshan Development Zone Senior High School, Jiangsu Province, China. 244 Grade 11 students and 10 English teachers participated in this study. The researcher used mixed explanatory methods to collect the data to carry out the research. The research instruments used were a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire for students and a structured interview for teachers. The findings indicated that (1) the Grade 11 students studied at Kunshan Development Zone Senior High School have positive attitudes toward using local folk stories to improve English reading skills. Since the total mean score of students’ perceptions on using local folk stories for improving English reading skills was interpreted as high on the interpretation scale. (2) the teachers who taught Grade 11 at the target school believed the application of folk stories in English reading teaching was helpful for students to improve their reading skills, and they were prone to use folk stories in their future teaching English classes.

ItemA comparative study of students' perceptions of expected ICT use and actual ICT use in classroom practices at Nawaminthrachnuthit Bodindecha School, ThailandThe purpose of this study was to determine if students’ perceptions of expected Information Communication Technology (ICT) use were being met. This research study examined grade 10 through 12 students’ perceptions of expected and actual ICT use in three subjects; English, Mathematics and Science. The research was conducted on 9 different classes at Nawaminthrachinutit Bodindecha: three classes for each grade level. Also, one class in each grade level represented the one of the three main programs of study: English; Mathematics; and Science. Through the use of a questionnaire that was created by the researcher, he compared upper secondary students’ perceptions of expected ICT use to their perceptions of actual ICT use. This study is relevant because the Ministry of Education in Thailand is putting forth great effort to implement the curriculum reforms, which emphasize the utilization of ICTs in the teaching and learning process. This research concluded that although the level of upper secondary students perceptions of actual ICT use is high, their perceptions of expected ICT use are not being met in all three subjects examined. Future studies should examine lower secondary students’ and teachers’ perceptions. Courses should be examined individually instead of grouped together by general subject content. Research should be conducted in rural areas of Thailand where ICT is less prevalent. Finally, when expectations are not met it lowers motivation. Future researcher should examine how unmet expectations of ICT use affect student motivation.

ItemA correlational-comparative study of Grades 4 to 6 students’ perceptions of parental encouragement and motivation for learning English as a foreign language at Zet Let Kung Kyang Community School, Kachin State in MyanmarThis study was conducted mainly to investigate the perception of parental encouragement and students’ motivation for learning English as a foreign language, and if there is a significant difference among their perception of parental encouragement and motivation for learning English as a foreign language at Zet Let Kung Kyang Community School, Kachin state in Myanmar. This research designed as a quantitative, correlational-comparative study with the population of the study, 102 Grades 4-6 students from Zet Let Kung Kyang Community School, Kachin State in Myanmar, during the academic year 2019-2020. Research to ANOVA data analysis, the study indicated that there was no significant difference among Grades 4 to 6 students’ perceptions of motivation for learning English as a foreign language, and no significant difference was found among their perceptions of parental encouragement for learning English as a foreign language. Pearson’s products moment correlation suggested that there was a significant positive relationship between Grades 4 to 6 students’ motivation for learning as a foreign language and their perceptions of parental encouragement for learning English as a foreign language. The result found that Grades 4 to 6 students’ perceptions of parental encouragement and motivation for learning English as a foreign language was high. Finally, the students, teachers, school administrators, parents, and future researchers will benefit from this study.

ItemThe relationship between grades four to six students' perceptions towards Montessori teaching method and their achievement at Mahachai Christian Wittaya School, ThailandThe primary purpose of this research study was to investigate students' perceptions towards Montessori teaching method and whether there is any relationship between students' perceptions towards Montessori teaching method and their academic achievement. The study was conducted upon grade 4,5 and 6 students at Mahachai Christian Wittaya School, Mahachai, Thailand in a Montessori setting. A questionnaire was used for data collection and 97 students completed the surveys that measured their perceptions towards Montessori teaching method. The data analysis showed that the students' perceptions were positive. A one-way ANOVA indicated that statistically no significant difference in the perceptions towards Montessori teaching method existed between the three groups. It was found that the students were most positive towards the construct of challenge and were not sure of their positions towards control and captivate, which had the lowest mean scores. Students' GPAs were found to be very good. A Pearson Correlation conducted to investigate the relationship between students' perceptions and their achievement found the existence of a strong positive relationship between students' perceptions and their achievement levels and supports previous research. It is recommended that Mahachai Christian Wittaya School could use current data to plan future changes and improvements and consider students' perceptions in future strategies. Future research should investigate the constructs of control and captivate to find out the effects of these variables upon student performance.
