Description
“Sufficiency economy” is a concept that was initiatiated by his Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej more than 30 years ago. It is a concept of life that is set in the foundation of Thai culture in regards to moderation, reason and necessity. Other properties that are apart of the philosophy include immunity, knowledge and integ- rity. Buddhist teachings also correspond to the concept and in order to live in true happiness one must have significant intel- ligence and perseverance. The concept of sufficiency is within an individual’s mind and way of living. It is a concept that is not dependent on one specific set of regula- tions, but rather the best way fit within an individual. In my creative work I use visual elements and color signs to convey the concept of sufficiency in regards to moderation (no more, no less). The colors used represent that life is neither black nor white but rather a balance of both. To live a life in moderation could be boring for some in- dividuals, but it is a life of salvation and an opportunity to live in true happiness with in ourselves and society.
