Description
The much anticipated AU Loy Krathong 2018 “The AUthaya” was colorfully celebrated in style impressively dazzling both Thai and international student community as well as countless other participants. The festive evening saw celebrants clad in elegant costumes of Ayutthaya bygone era befitting the special theme of the “AUthaya.” Organized on November 21, 2018 by Assumption University Student Organization at Suvarnabhumi Campus’s charming Thai Pavilion area, the elegantly celebrated festival featured a full range of activities: i.e., Office of the Thai Arts and Culture’s organized session demonstrating how to create the Krathongs (lotus-shaped vessels) using mainly banana leaves, stalks, flowers and other bio-degradable materials, a variety of food stalls showcasing both Thai and foreign mouth-watering cuisines, student traditional dances, shows and numerous other performances besides the Miss Noppamas beauty contest. In keeping with such a famed nation-wide traditional celebration, other administrators, faculty members, staff, students, and honored guests, joined Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President-Rector Magnificus, who presided over the celebrative occasion, and eventually floated the lit Kratongs of various sizes and types reflectively glittering the university pond like fireflies.
