Description
Assumption University’s Office of the Thai Arts and Culture, Student Affairs, in collaboration with the Ruam Chit Nom Klao Foundation for Youth under the Royal Patronage, organized the Cultural Tour for the foundation’s 100 student scholarship recipients from all over Thailand to visit a number of various tourist attractions: major temples, palaces and places of significant art, cultural, religious and historical values in Bangkok and the nearby provinces. This was to enhance the students’ love, appreciation and the sense of responsible preservation of valuable art, cultural and historical heritage of the country. The tour taking place on October 21-25, 2019 covered interesting places like Wat Phra Cetuphone Vimolmangklararam Ratchaworamahawihan, Wa Phrasi Rattana Satsadaram (the Grand Palace’s Emerald Buddha Temple), Chakri Throne Hall, Siam Discovery Museum, and Phra Dabos School among many other major places. On their arrival at Assumption University’s Suvarnabhumi Campus where the students were accommodated during their 5-day cultural field trips, Rev. Bro. Dr. Amnuay Yoonprayong, Vice, President for Moral Development Education, greeted and warmly welcomed all the students while the dinner reception hosted for them on the last day was graced by Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghirang, AU President-Rector Magnificus. Towards the end of their tour, the student group took the opportunity to visit the Phum Siri Mangkhanusorn Building, Chulalongkorn Hospital, to sign the visitors’ books; expressing their sincere wishes for H.R.H. Princess Soamsawali Krom Muen Suddhanarinatha’s speedy recovery from her current ailments.
