AU Annual Faculty Seminar 2009 was on the topic: “The Missing Link Between University and Industry” organized on 19 May 2009 at Conference Center, John XXIII, Suvarnabhumi campus, Assumption University. Rev. Bro. Dr. Prathip M. Komolmas, President Emeritus presided over the seminar and gave a special lecture on “What is the Missing Link in View of Academic and What Academic Should Do to Fill Up the Gap Between University and Industry ”. Mr. Chalermpol Tuchinda, Deputy Director, Software Park Thailand gave a talk entitled, “What is the Missing Link in View of Industry? And What is the Government Trying to do to Fill up the Gap between Industry and University?”. “Mr.Tirachart Chiracharasporn, Vice President of Corporate Business & Strategy Department, AyudhyaCapital Auto LeaSE Co.Ltd., gave a talk on “What Kind of Problems Did They Encountered at the Beginning of Their Career?and How Did They Solve those Problems?”. A panel discussion was on “Helping each other to Fill up the Gap Between Industry and University:What Kind of Problems did They Encounter from Young Graduates? And What are the Suggestions or Comments to the University in order to Fill up the Gap Between Industry and University? ” . The panelists: included Mr.Supoet Sirnutapong, Director of Public Sector Programmes, Microsoft (Thailand) Co.Ltd., and Ms. Sirinporn Hongsilathong, Marketing Director, Michi Trading Co.Ltd., Mr.Panitarn Pavarolavidya, Managing Director, Boutiques Newcity PCL., Mr.SanchaiThiewprasertkul, Chief Marketing OfficerInfo Service PCL & PresidentDigital Phone Co.Ltd., Mr.Thanasarn Hongpaisanvivat, Geo Expansion Leader, IBM Thailand and Prof. Graham Kenneth Winley, Chairperson, Department of Information Technology, Assumption University as panelist and moderator. Participants were AU administrators and the faculty.
