Description
Confucius Institute at Assumption University (CIAU) and HANBAN co-organized an international
seminar for Thai and Chinese directors of 14 Confucius Institutes in Thailand from October 6-7, 2015 at
Wiset Si Samut, the Cathedral of Learning, Assumption University Suvarnabhumi campus. We were honored
to welcome Assoc. Prof. Kamjorn Tatiyakavee M.D., Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education, to preside
over the opening ceremony and deliver an opening address, followed by Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran’s
welcome speech, and a keynote speech by Mr. Xia Jianhui, Deputy Director of the Chinese Head Quarters
HANBAN. Among honored guests were Chinese and Thai directors and their representatives from all 14
Confucius Institutes in Thailand, the representative from the Chinese embassy, and representatives from the
Office of Chinese Language Council International: TOCLCI or HANBAN.
