ItemA comparative study of prospective natural gas for vehicle (NGV) buyers' behavior intention in Thailand(American Society of business and Behavioral Sciences, 2010-02) Sirion Chaipoopirutana ; Nongnuch Likitsuwannakool ; Combs, HowardGlobal warming and the economic consequences of the global dependence on increasingly expensive gasoline have become the most serious and appalling world problems of today. Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV), currently in successful use in Thailand, have the potential to solve this problem in a relatively pollution-free manner. The question is how to get more consumers to adopt this new form of energy? This study examined how NGV's can increase in popularity and obtain more consumer adoption in Thailand. A survey of 500 potential consumers from various geographic regions and demographic groups examined what factors impact on behavioral intention toward NGV. The results suggest that consumer's behavioral intentions toward NGV are affected by factors pertaining to social influences and certain NGV attributes. Each group contains several sub-variables and is used in verifying its individual impact on consumer's behavioral intention, while the differences in vehicle factors did not strongly affect the behavior intention. Recommendations for increasing the adoption rate of NGV in Thailand are provided. The findings of this study can assist in the creation of more effective marketing appeals for NGV in Thailand. Some of these finding could also be applicable to the task of encouraging current petroleum gas users in other countries to switch to natural gas vehicles.

ItemCross-disciplinary research and education post Copenhagen 2009( 2010) Nicholls, PhilipThe study of the environment and environmentalism in our universities too often fails to recognize its inherently trans-disciplinary nature. As we all know, beyond academia, environmental issues simultaneously encompass corporate, political, social, scientific, engineering, health, cultural, biological, legal and economic factors. This long list can indeed be readily expanded. Yet, in practice, if addressed at all, the issues of environmental research and education tend to be departmentalized; an outcome of what may be characterized as an historical, structural or administrative mindset. The rigidity of departmental bounds should be loosened as we move towards a convergence of disciplines and standardized universal education. This paper will explore what I posit to be a challenge to our research institutions and teaching practices. There is clearly a need to teach our graduates the fundamentals of environmentalism and I suggest that this can be no better achieved than through teaching a range of environmental topics as extensions to existing curricula. Environmental history is rarely if ever taught yet in practice it could be used as a most effective medium for conveying to students the core issues that underpin the fundamental issues facing the global community in the 21st century. The importance of a broad based inter-disciplinary approach to researching and teaching environmentalism, co-related to different academic disciplines, is an essential starting point. Environmentalism, as an aspect of corporate social responsibility, could be a core subject which can be utilized in virtually all graduate or undergraduate degree courses. The integration of environmental issues into all courses in this post-Copenhagen era is essential to any contemporary university curriculum.

ItemApplying six sigma for quality assessment in a eLearning courseware production process( 2010-05) Nagi, KuldeepSix Sigma method claims that focusing on reduction of variation will lead to reduction in defects in a business product. Its prestige and value is well known within the manufacturing industry. However, it is seldom applied to educational products such as courseware produced and used in higher education. It is beginning to be recognized as key process for quality assessment in eLearning and eTraining sectors in ASEAN. A consistent high quality in an eLearning or eTraining product can be achieved by applying Six Sigma in the courseware production process. This paper in attempt to discuss this new approach adopted from the industry that seeks to asses, evaluate and monitor variation in the usage of eLearning courseware components and recommend methods for their improvements. A pilot study based on Six Sigma and being conducted by the authors is briefly discussed.

ItemFactors Affect Turnover Intention of Bangkok Air Conditioning CompanyThis study aims to elaborate the human resource department of a Bangkok air conditioning company to understand how to improve the turnover intention of employees based on their perception towards the company. Based on dual relationship, the first examines the relationship between environmental factors and job satisfaction. The second is the relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intention. Turnover intention revealed the likelihood of leaving the current job by an employee. If turnover rate of skilled professionals was high, the organization might lose the human capital, such as skill, knowledge, and trained human resources to his competitors. Thus, turnover of these individuals incurred both replacement costs and a competitive loss of this company. This research studied factors influencing employees’ turnover intention. A total population of 400 questionnaires was quantitatively distributed in an Air Conditioning Company located in Bangkok only. Census survey was adopted. The influences of perception, job satisfaction, and turnover intention were identified through structural equation modeling (AMOS) version 20. The casual relationships among working condition, salary and incentives, supervision, nature of work, career opportunities, job satisfaction, and turnover intention were also confirmed.

ItemMultidimensional Process Analytical System for Manufacturing Management( 2015) Poonphon SuesaowalukIndustrial or manufacturing management is a complex task that requires prior information from several entries to support in order to make the right decision with efficient solution and obtain the optimum profit. Business intelligent technology approach allows business organization to utilize information in a form of heterogeneous view and benefits several objectives for uses. This work employs business intelligent concepts to develop simplified real time process analysis systems for supportive manufacturing management. With many desirable benefits provided, multiple objectives of analysis derive from the single database. The system trial in homogenous or mass productions results in displaying the data analysis and enabling managers to view the multidimensional information based on a variety of perspectives such as a process improvement, inventory control, material management, quality assurance and eventually governance management in manufacturing. Furthermore, this work can be applicable to different configuration products.

ItemAn Economy Manufacturing Enterprise System: A Case Study of Plastic Injection Factory( 2014) Poonphon SuesaowalukAn automated system for manufacturing management called Manufacturing Enterprise System is proposed and designed for the supportive factory management with the low cost investment. The proposed system will record and provide the report of process performance by manipulating information, which is recorded during the actual process in the production line. The system captures the overall testing of particular product in each process. The testing would be either default as accept or reject and denote the defective criteria. The system reveals the actual performance of particular process of each product and yields throughout the production line. This development system contributes to support production management, especially to report the actual material management for Material Resource Planning (MRP) as a type of defect for defective analysis. Eventually, the implementation of this system is appointed at one stage of Enterprise System.
