AU Family Sports Day 2017

The very first official "AU Family Sports Day 2017" was organized by AU Sports Committee Members, led by Mr. Yutthana Suwannatarn, Chair of the Organizing Committee. Aimed to foster the unity and friendly relationship among AU personnel, the sporting event was held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at John Paul II Sports Center, Assumption University, Suvarnabhumi Campus. Such a fun-filled day featured a number of sporting activities with as many as 800 AU personnel participating in. The morning session saw a variety of fun sports/games actively competed by the four designated colored groups (Red, Yellow, Green and Blue); each of which indicriminately consisted of a mixture of all levels of personnel (faculty members/staff) from different departments, faculties as well as basic general workers. Group cheering and cheer leaders' contest and the even more exciting bigger group games were carried out in the afternoon. This joyous family sports day ended with an outdoor evening sumptuous buffet party, stage performances and prizes' presentation.
Presiding over the occasion, Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, Assumption University's Rector Magnificus, delivered an opening address encouraging AU family unity, sporting spirit, understanding, and strengthened relationship among all the university community united through the sporting activities. The program was also attended by Rev. Bro. Dr. Prathip M. Komolmas, President Emeritus, Rev. Bro. Anupat Petchara-Yuttachai, Professor of the Order of St. Gabriel, Rev. Bro. Dr. Sirichai Fonseka, Vice President for Student Affairs. Rev. Bro. Dr. Achin Tengtrakul, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Mr. Sompol Na-Songkhla, Vice President for Legal and Privilege Affairs.
